The Sacred Land of Paliuli
Paliuli, known as the Garden of Eden, was a legendary mystical paradise and the home of Princess Laieikawai (Lā'i.e.-i-ka-wai). That legacy is alive in every acre of this farm.
This 10-acre sanctuary is our beloved Kona coffee farm and fertile ground for abundant year-round tropical fruits, cacao, and medicinal plant life. On this sacred land, we honor the fertile alchemy of soil and fire. Feel the union of heaven and earth with gorgeous sunsets and sweeping ocean views from any of our communal patios.
Our sacred Honaunau Bay is also home to abundant marine life. The wild spinner dolphins and winter migratory whales come to rest here and remind us to live, play, and create with joy and aliveness.
We offer restful, energizing spaces for the expansion of your dreams, combined with the sweet serenity of blooming flowers and joyful birdsong.
Come and rest, nourish, dream, play, and celebrate.
WAYS TO EXPERIENCE PALIULI
There are two ways to come to Paliuli. Some guests arrive for a hosted program, held by the rhythm of the season and a small intentional group. Others come for a self-directed stay, drawn to the land itself and the particular medicine of time on a working sacred farm. Both are whole and complete ways to be here.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
-
Paliuli is an ancient Hawaiian legend describing a hidden mystical paradise, known as the Garden of Eden of Hawaii, and the sacred home of Princess Laieikawai. A place of divine abundance, sacred protection, and regenerative power. Our farm carries that name as both an honoring of the land's history and a living aspiration for every guest who arrives.
-
Paliuli is not a hotel. We are a temple space and working Kona coffee farm that integrates the sacred into all aspects of life. Guests who feel most at home here come willing to be changed by the place as much as by any program.
-
Individual suites are available for solo travelers, couples, and small groups. The full property, sleeping up to 13 and gathering up to 35, is available for groups, retreat leaders, and organizational offsites at $1,500 per night with a four-night minimum.
-
Each sabbatical week includes lodging in a private suite, farm-nourished meals, facilitated group visioning and integration sessions, and generous unstructured time on the land. Small groups only. See the individual event pages for full details and pricing.
-
Deeply so. Paliuli is a women-centered, women-informed space. Many of our guests are women arriving solo, some for the first time and others returning for a second or third year of deeper work. The land and the community here hold solo guests with particular care and intention.
-
Most retreat centers in Hawaii are resort-adjacent or programming-heavy. Paliuli is a living Kona coffee farm with a small-group, land-first approach. The coffee trees, the cacao, the birdsong, the spinner dolphins resting in Honaunau Bay, the ancient quiet of the land. These are our primary offering. We are not a spa. We are something older and quieter.
-
We are near Honaunau on the South Kona coast, about 20 minutes from Kona town. Close by: Puuhonua o Honaunau National Historical Park, snorkeling and swimming with spinner dolphins at Two Step beach, Kona coffee belt farm tours, and the volcanic south shore landscape of the Big Island.

REVIEWS FROM OUR GUESTS
“We had a lovely time and already plan to return! Belinda and Peter's farm is thoughtfully tended to, so the entire location is welcoming. The A frame is a beautiful place to rejuvenate, relax and reconnect. Belinda provided us with helpful information and guidance throughout our week which enhanced our time. And...their coffee is excellent!”

“Amazing place with tons of fresh fruit growing all around. Feels like you are out in the country/middle of the jungle (in the best possible way!) while only being a 15min drive away from shave ice, supermarkets, restaurants, beaches, and other attractions.”

Also at Hestia Magic
Paliuli is one of two sanctuaries held by Hestia Magic. Where Paliuli is water, warmth, and the slow magic of tropical time, Mount Shasta is crystalline, elemental, and still. Many of our guests move between both lands across a year of deeper work. One for integration. One for activation. Both for coming home to yourself.
If the Big Island called you here, the mountain may be calling too.
SACRED HOSPITALITY
This is sacred ground, tended with intention and held with love. We welcome all who come ready to be in right relationship with the land, with themselves, and with the magic this place offers.
