Mindful Fermentation, Part 1: Pickled Veggies with Melissa S

Join Natural Chef Melissa S. in the mindful practice of fermentation. During this introductory class we will enjoy a brief meditation, learn to make a simple fermented vegetable and leave with a lifelong skill for better health and wellness. 

You can get a sneak preview here!

What you will need:

  • Vegetables of choice

    • ex: cauliflower (fan favorite), carrot, radish, beet, green bean, cherry tomato, etc (organic is best)

  • Glass jar (ideally at least quart sized)

  • Weight (ex: fermentation weight, small jam or 1/2 pint jar and/or large cabbage leaf)

  • Sharp knife and cutting board

  • Sea Salt (or other non iodized salt)

  • Filtered water

  • Optional: garlic, ginger, and/or red pepper flake

Join us again for Part 2 on June 14th, when we’ll learn to make Sauerkraut!
